Sunil Chhetri was suffering from covid 19, but his fast recovery allowed him to return and direct Bengaluru FC in their two matches of the early stage of the AFC Cup, which will be held on 14th April. Immediately after the detection of three covid cases among the staff and players, on Thursday, a team of 29 members was named by the Bengaluru-based team to play against the Nepalese team, Tribhuvan army FC. Marco pizzaiolo, who is the head coach, prepares for his first game against the blue with five reserve team players.
The club reported that captain Sunil Chhetri would direct his team into the seventh season of continental football. He expressed his grief over missing out on two international matches against UAE and Oman, which were held in Dubai due to the Covid 19 infection. The blues’ qualifying campaign had a team of Erik Paartalu, Cleitonsilva, and Juanan Gonzalez, besides having a new addition, Yrondumusavu-king, who is a Gabonese defender. The qualifiers from the club’s reserve side include damaitphangLyngdoh, a midfielder, Sharon palatial, a goalkeeper and sivasakthiNarayanan and Akashdeep Singh as the strikers.
The GMC Stadium tournament will be played in a closed stadium, without any audiences due to the outbreak of the pandemic. The club declared that three candidates were tested positive due to Covid 19 on Wednesday during the campaign, which started on 5th April.
The goalkeepers in the team are Lara Sharma, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Sharonpadattil and lalthuammawiaralte.
Yrondumusavu-king, Biswadarjee, Joezoherliana, Ashiquekuruniyan, Rahul Bheke, Pratik Chaudhari, Parag Shrives, Ajith Kumar, Juan Gonzalez, Pratik Chaudhari and Rahul Bheke are in the position of the defenders.
Midfielders such as Suresh Wangjam, Erik Paartalu, Namgyal Bhutia, Harmanjot Khabra, Emanuel Lalchhanchuaha, Muhammad Inayat and Damaitphang Lyngdoh are included in the team.
The team consists of forwards, namely Edmund Lalrindika, Sunil Chhetri, Cleitonsilva, Udanta Singh, Naorem Roshan Singh, Leon Augustine, Akashdeep Singh and Sivasakthi Narayanan.
