Danil Medvedev, who is a top-seeded, was crashing out of the Miami Open this Wednesday. It was a day of upsets as it also saw that Naomi Osaka, the Australian Open Champion, was too crashed out of the quarter-finals. Spaniard Roberto Bautista, the seventh-seeded, beat Medvedev 6-4, 6-2 for the third win in various meetings: the runner-up and a Russian. He was the runner-up at the Australian Open to Novak Djokovic and was being ascended to number 2 in the entire world because of his victory in March at Marseille.

Osaka, who is the women’s no.2 in the world, seeded the second position behind Ashleigh Barty, who ranked the top in the prestigious WTA hardcourt tournament and ATP Masters. He had bowed out a few hours earlier when the 23-match winning streak of the Japanese start came to a crash halt with a loss of 6-0, 6-4 to Maria Sakkari of Greece. Bautista booked a semi-final showdown with Jannick Sinner of Italy, who is 19 years old. He is the world no.31 who is known to beat Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan for 7-6 (7/5), 6-4.

Sakkari is known to visit Bianca Andreescu of Canada, who is the eighth-seeded for securing a place in the Women’s final.

The rank of Andreescu was ninth in the entire world, who is known to claw a victory of 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 over Sara Sorribes Tormo, who is a 58th-ranked Spaniard.

Osaka played her first tournament when she lifted her Grand Slam title for the fourth time at the Australian Open. She won eight points at the initial set, and she failed to assemble a single winner. Osaka is known to break in the second game of the second set and has a lead of 3-0 before Sakkari, who roared back for the victory that ended Osaka’s chance for overtaking Barty of Australia. She has already booked her spot in the semi-final at the top of the world’s ranking this week.

Osaka already acknowledged that the rankings’ race might simply affect her against Sakkari of Greece, who is 25th-ranked.

According to Osaka, the last time when she was in the seat of this press conference, she was not thinking really about the rankings at all. She also added that someone at the press conference asked her about the orders, and since then, she started pondering about the fact. And she admitted that unwillingly that pressured her a lot, and she is confident enough that she will surely overcome this and rise back soon if that did so.

Since her last defeat, Osaka also did not drop a set of love which came in the Fed Cup Match in February 2020. According to Sakkari, she had the maximum wins so far, and she is in good form, which is a lot for her. She also disclosed that she got a little tight in her first two matches of the second set. She also saved six points in her win at the fourth-round over Jessica Pegula of America.
