India vs. England test series is going on, and Wasim Jaffer was responsible for picking playing eleven for team India for the 1st Test. Jasprit Bumrah will head the Team’s pace attack, and the selection between the pacer Mohammed Siraj and Ishant Sharma is solely based on the condition of the pitch, according to Jaffer.

Wasim Jaffer was the former opening batsman for Team India. He picked up the playing eleven who will play the first Test against England. The match is to be paid from the 5th of February in Chennai. According to Jaffer, Rohit Sharma and Shubnam Gill will be acting as the opening pair. Following that, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, and Rishabh Pant are placed in the middle order. On the other hand, Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel are placed in the place of the spinners in the side.

Jaffer included Axar as the English batters struggled a lot against the left-arm spinner. Jasprit Bumrah will head the pace attach from Team India’s side, and the best between Mohammed Siraj and Ishant Sharma will be picked depending upon the condition of the pitch according to the former batsman.

Jaffer also tweeted that India’s playing 11 for the first Test according to the order is 1. Rohit Sharma, 2. Shabnam Gill, 3. Pujara, 4. Virat Kohli, 5. Rahane, 6. Pant, 7. Axar * , 8. Ashwin, 9. Kuldeep/Thakur, 10. Ishant/Siraj, 11. Bumrah. He further added that the question is about two spots that depend upon pitch+combination. He also believes that there are lots of weaknesses from England’s side vs. left-arm spin.

The squad for Team India for the first two tests against team England is Virat Kohli ( captain ), Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Wriddhiman Saha, Mayank Agarwal, Shabnam Gill, Chesteshwar Pujara, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul (depends on fitness), Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur, Mohammad Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravi Ashwin, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar.

According to the assistant batting coach of England, Graham Thorpe, the bowling of the host’s is not only concerned about spinners because they also have rigid pace attack.

According to Thorpe in a virtual conference,  the bowling attack of India is not simply about spin. He thinks that the seam attack of the Team is also strong. Therefore, it will not be a smart task to get side-tracked into the spin entirely from that point of view. He considers this to be amongst many other important things.

The matches between England and India are set to be four tests, among which there are three ODIs and 5 T20Is. Out of all these games, the first two games of the series of 4 games will be played in Chennai as per decided. Afterwards the cricketers will shift from Chennai to Ahmedabad to play the third and fourth test matches. It is believed that the Indian Team has young and energetic youngsters who can bring the trophy home just like the previous Test.
