There are a number of selection updates that are announced by USA Cricket for both women’s, men’s, and youth cricket. This is a new year of cricket, and USA cricket is pleased to announce the updates for the year 2021. As the world knows, everything was ultimately on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic; after about 12 months, the USA cricket team, domestic cricket, and the USA’s National Teams are now having important fixtures to prepare for the year 2021.
The NSP or National Selection Panels and the Cricket Committee have undertaken to give the best foundation to Women’s, Men’s, and Youth teams so that they can return to their activities soon. The updates are as follows:
Men’s National Training Group: the Men’s National Training Group is extended by the USA Cricket Men’s National Selectors to a total of forty-four players. It will make the group of cricketers a wider one to reckon the selection of the USA Men’s National Team. This is regarded as the starting for the fixtures of the team since the pandemic. There will be a continuous revision in the training group while consulting the selection committee as well as the coaches in regards to the skill development of the players, their attitude, performance, and fitness.
USA Team selection matches and Men’s training camp: The team can announce the majority of the newly named information for the training camp and the selection matches next month. The camp will take place at Prairie View Cricket Complex in Houston. The final dates are yet to be confirmed. All the plans are COVID dependent, and the matches will be held once the officials think that it is safe to do by maintaining the protocols. The selectors will also get an opportunity to witness the new talents from the camp and series, which are trying to achieve the positions in the coming ICC Cricket World Cup League.
Women’s National Training Group: There are plans to select larger groups for Women’s National Training and select the women under 19 training groups. All this is because of the women’s and girls’ talent ID Events, which were curtailed by the coronavirus pandemic during 2020’s first quarter. It was before being completed safely in the final quarter of 2020. The national training groups will be trained within the regionalized hubs.
