Rafael Nadal: Spirited with success
Rafael Nadal who is world’s number 2 tennis Champion, expressed that he won’t defend himself for his quarter final defeat at the Australian Open. Stefanos Tsitsipas who is the 6th seed expelled Nadal as he collapsed after being set up twice. This happened only twice in his entire grand slam career.
Rafael Nadal said that it’s difficult but it is the only way to continue the tour in the middle of the pandemic. Unlike other defending players like Alexander Zverev and Novak Djokovic along with many more who cursed the 14 days quarantine period for the injury complications giving on to the Australian Open.
Rafael Nadal’s sudden development of a stiff back made him leave out the ATA cup in Melbourne. He was finally at ease after fighting it for the initial few rounds. Stefanos Tsitsipas was playing against Rafael Nadal who was in the commanding position in the quarter finals match. Nadal couldn’t match the vigour of the greek youngster as he couldn’t carry on in the 5 sets whereas he completed the first two sets comfortably.
Rafael said that he regards himself as a very lucky person and he has nothing to complain about. He could easily find justification or reasons to deal with the failure of the match or he can also find a way to blame the quarantine but he is not such a person instead he would simply accept. He considers himself a very fortunate person regardless of the injury that he had.
He also said that it is high time that people should adjust to these minute rough times. He suggested that the tennis community should try to open up their mind to bigger things as many incomes and professions rely on the tours and tournaments in these rough times. One would either stop the tours or continue with it. Though it is difficult for the players without any doubt but there is no other option either way as lots of jobs are going to get effected without the surety of when and in what manner they would resume.
He added with grief that because of the impact on the tennis community, they should adjust to these difficult times and try to bring broader perspectives and wider notions which would bring a solution to the problems that they are facing.
In the end of Rafael Nadal’s bid for the 21st major, unfortunately Nadal failed to grab an opportunity to win a victory over Roger Federer in the list of men’s single players with the maximum Grand Slam Championships.
According to him, all he can do is to move on and give his best performance in every match that he plays. He has upgraded himself two sets up in the quarter finals which is not far from the semi finals. He does not regard himself as a failure as life goes on and it keeps creating new opportunities. He would fight for the chances and wish to keep playing well.
