Punjab Kings’ is backed up by K.L Rahul to play a fearless cricket
At the ongoing IPL session, Punjab Kings might have lost their second game, but KL Rahul’s skipper made sure his side would learn from all the mistakes they committed against CSK or Chennai Super Kings. He also expected his team to bounce back even much stronger in IPL this session. Deepak Chahar, who is the right-arm pacer, picked up four wickets Faf du Plessis. At the same time, Moeen Ali also helped Chennai Super Kings to register an easy win over Punjab Kings’ at the Wankhede Stadium on the evening of Friday. Chahar made sure to run through the heavy batting order of Punjab Kings’ by dismissing Nicholas Pooran and Mayank Agarwal for ducks while they sent back Deepak Hooda and Chris Gayle for ten runs each.
According to the skipper of Punjab Kings’, there is nothing more to say or discuss. In case a particular team loses five wickets in the initial seven or eight overs, it is always supposed to be caught up. He also added that the opponent played well, but Kings XII Punjab played some bad shots. He concluded by telling the Star Sports broadcaster after the match that is how the game goes on.
He further said that the pitch was a lot more tacky and sticky than it appeared. All the credit goes to the bowlers of the Chennai Super Kings as they managed to bowl in the appropriate channels. Deepak, along with the knuckleballs, got a couple of wickets by getting KL Rahul run-out does not do any favor to the team.
KL Rahul also added that the way Punjab Kings’ started, the pitch was still good. Maybe the pitch was not for a 100-110 wicket, but it may be for a 150-160, sort of. The entire thing was good learning for the team, and the skipper is hopeful that the entire team can learn from different mistakes and bounce back even stronger in the further games.
Punjab Kings made a score of more than two hundred runs in their first game, but Punjab Kings was unable to even cross the run mark of 110 on Friday against Chennai Super Kings.
After the match, KL Rahul claimed that the team got 220 runs in the last match, but this time against CSK, the team could not even get half of the runs. He also added that it is vital to learn from the mistakes, which is exactly the kind of team they wanted to be like. He assured that they still want to go and proceed with fearless cricket.
In support of his boys, he said that in T20 cricket, there would be instances when you will score some big runs, but there will also be times when in one or two seasons, the team will be seen losing some precious wickets like this one. He claimed that it is very important to take it up on the chin and at the same time move forward and try to get better in the next game.
Jhye Richardson and Riley Meredith might have bowled superbly against Chennai Super Kings, but two of the bowlers were much expensive in Punjab Kings’ game-opening game in 2021 IPL.
Rahul also confirmed to the reporters that the first game was not a perfect one for Meredith and Richardson as it was reportedly their first game, and the captain of the team is sure that the two of them were a bit nervous. This is also the way Indian Premier League goes. Ir can be cruel and tough at the same time. The plans of both of them were very much clear, and they also executed them pretty well.
He also added that it was pretty good to see that both of them came back way stronger in this game, and they also gave some crucial breakthroughs. But it is also important for the entire team to review themselves on some major points that one needs to speak about prior to the game.
Punjab Kings’ will next be playing against Delhi Capitals in Mumbai at Wankhede this Sunday.
