Karl-Anthony tested COVID positive, game in Minneapolis gets postponed

Karl-Anthony got tested COVID positive on Friday and announced it on his social media. He had already lost seven family members to COVID, and now he has been tested positive.

Town says on his social media that he received the test result before Friday’s scheduled game in Minneapolis against Memphis Grizzlies. So, the game is now postponed by the NBA.

He requests everyone to take precautions to stop the effect of the virus by taking necessary protection. He alone cannot prevent the virus; it needs group effort. He adds that he prays every day that the nightmare of this virus subsides.

Towns says he will immediately quarantine himself and follow all the rules. Last year, the NBA star lost his uncle and mother to the complication of COVID. Moreover, his father also received the virus but fortunately recovered.

He added it breaks his heart to see his family, father, and sister dwelling in anxiety that comes with the treatment. He shares we all know the result virus is capable of bringing. Towns said, promising his niece and nephew that he will not end up in a box next to their grandma, and he is sure he will beat the disease.

According to the NBA’s health and safety protocols, the game which was to start at the Target Centre in Minneapolis is now postponed. Because of the in-progress contact tracking within the Timberwolves, the team currently does not have eight players to complete the league requirement. So, they cannot progress the game scheduled tonight against the Grizzles.

The Timberwolves’ game against the Memphis Grizzlies was canceled, the same as the Wizards home game on Sunday has been, and the game against Clevand Cavaliers on Monday.

This game is just another game that has been postponed in the slew of match-ups. It was first initiated on December 22. Since Sunday, around twelve games have been delayed. Furthermore, taking this game also now it totals to 13 games postponed so far this season.

Washington has to suffer four postponed games; Phoenix and Boston have had three called-off games. The Celtics returned to the field on Friday night on the game against Orlando. This game was Boston’s first game this week.

Timberwolves President Gresson Rosas said Karl is the most important half of the organization. For what Karl has gone through, nothing can be more heartbreaking.

The number of games that have been postponed will make up these play-offs in the second part. The second part is supposed to take place on March 11.

NBA said, around 16 players are tested positive recently, which is quite a number that the NBA has seen so far. Moreover, this number is more than the last five weeks combined. The previous graph shows that the report for next week is potentially to get even worse.

Even coaches are aware that they have to put much more effort into controlling the happenings. The NBA gave the coach Steve Clifford a call telling him to do a better job keeping the mask on during play-offs.
