In June, England lost its position from the ICC worst test championship against India. In the day-night third test, which took place in Ahmedabad, a victory of 10 wickets moved the Indian team to a winning position.  To win the game against New Zealand in the lords, India is burdened with more responsibility to either gain a victory or draw a tie in the final game of Ahmedabad which is starting from 4thMarch. The latest list includes New Zealand who has been qualified to the second position in the list. The ICC declared that India has secured her place with 71 percentage points in the points table with England resting down at 64.1 percentages. It also said that England after getting defeated by India in the third test in Ahmedabad has been disqualified from a place in the final of the ICC world test championship.

To play the June 18-22 final, the four-match series 3-1 should be won by England where they are presently in a position of 2-1 down.  Nevertheless, with 70 percentage points, New Zealand is securing a place in the finals without any doubt. Kane Williams directed New Zealand to the finals.New Zealand is the only team that completed all the test series in the ICC world test championship and has a prestigious entry into the finals.  Also, Australia can get benefited by qualifying for the finals of the world test championship if England manages to win the last test of the tour which be conducted in the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmadabad.

Australia who is with 69.2 percentage points can get qualified in the finals only if India losses the final test with Australia. India occupied second place on the table before the incredible victory inside two days.  The hope for India’s victory backfired as India completed the match in two days in Ahmedabad.  On the match’s second day which was held in Montreal, The Indian team led by Virat Kohli won by 10 wickets with a target of 49 runs in just 7.4 overs.

Ever since 1935, no other match as the pink ball test in Ahmedabad has been regarded as the shortest completed match.  With 140.2 overs and 5 overs, less than the last shortest game match played (in 1946, New Zealand and Australia in wellington), the pink ball test gained its stature.
