Curt Schilling asks to remove his name from the Hall of Fame from the ballot

A grievance was filled with 1100 word that was posted to Curt Schilling Facebook account. He requested to remove his name from the Hall of Fame in the final year. This is the last year of Curt’s eligibility, repeating his contempt for the news media. He missed the election to the Hall of Fame on Tuesday evening. He was named on 71.1% of 301 ballots. Iiit was only 16 votes that were shy of the required 75% for the induction.

This year was Schilling’s ninth year of eligibility. The share of the vote is nearly double the n number since he received 38.8% in 2013. But the upward trend of Schilling in voting is not the typical one for players. His voting has come as his apparent belief system and off-field conduct that has eventually angered the supporters.

He was also fired from his role on Sunday Night Baseball of ESPN in 2016. This was because he had posted one anti-transgender meme from his own Facebook page. In the Hall Of Fame, nobody voted for him for the first time since the year 2013.

In recent years, Schilling had an alignment with the far-right extremists. The name of the extremists is Steve Bannon, who is former President Donald Trump’s advisor. He also expressed his support for some of the posts that are not appropriate. One of such posts is a meme that eventually read “Rope. Tree. Journalist,” and wondered about the Muslims’ dangerousness as Nazis.

In recent times Schilling also tweeted his harsh support in favor of the group that stormed the Capital on the 6th of January. They did iiit to overturn the results of the election. There had to be postmarked the 31st of December of the ballots for the election of 2021, which means that the results of Tuesday had no reflection of any potential blowback from the comments that he made on the Capital attack. Five people were also killed during this attack. 

Curt Schilling’s letter to the Hall Of Fame also suggested that he was offended by the fact that because of his personal views, it may cost him the support and at the same time chunk him with Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds. They both have statistical cases of a slam-dunk for the Hall Of Fame, but they are still firmly tied to the performance-enhancing the use of drugs.

Both Bonds and Clemens are in their ninth year and also penultimate year. They are logging 61.6% (Clemens) and 61.8% (Bonds) on the ballot. There was also a record of 14 blank votes that were submitted according to the Hall Of Fame. This blank submission was a form of protests that were made by the voters. This type of objection was also used in the past so that candidacies can be suppressed. The voting is conducted by members of the Baseball Writers Associations of America, who are there for ten years. 

Schilling also wrote in a message that in his 22 years of playing baseball professionally in the most culturally diverse sports locker rooms, he had never said or even acted in any capacity inspite of being an ideal teammate.
